Discovering Britain and Mottisfont

Look out for The Caravan Gallery in the beech circle from Saturday 3 – Sunday 11 June, 10am-5pm.

We will be showing an extensive selection of photographs, chosen to complement Mottisfont’s current Discovering Britain: the Shell Heritage Art Collection exhibition, in The Caravan Gallery during our residency at Mottisfont, a National Trust property famed for its rose gardens, near Romsey, Hampshire.

The Caravan Gallery will be creating new, site-specific work, including photographic portraits of visitors. The residency will also respond to Mottisfont in general, documenting its unique characteristics and highlighting unusual and overlooked details.

The exhibition will grow and evolve during the residency: a selection of images will be printed on site and displayed next to the caravan, and some of this work will be displayed in the Beech Circle after the residency has finished.

At least one of us will be at The Caravan Gallery exhibition at all times to talk and interact with visitors, asking you to share your thoughts by writing notes and completing intriguing surveys about Britain, Mottisfont and the National Trust. This material will then be incorporated into the display.

We will also be taking photographs and chatting with visitors around the site so we look forward to seeing you!
