The Caravan Gallery Pride of Place Project Tour 2015 – 2016

The Caravan Gallery is pleased to announce a major Pride of Place Project Tour in partnership with six arts organisations thanks to an Arts Council England Strategic Touring grant. The tour consists of three interconnected strands: a formal gallery exhibition, an offsite participatory project and a mobile exhibition in the caravan.

Our Project Partners and exhibition hosts are as follows:

Lesbian sex scandal, Skegness    Car Park Sunbather, Margate    Snoggers, Hyde Park    The Caravan Gallery

TOURING EXHIBITION :

extra{ordinary}  –  Photographs of Britain by The Caravan Gallery
This major exhibition by The Caravan Gallery will tour to six prestigious venues from March 2015 through to Winter 2016. It will feature a selection of the best photographic work from The Caravan Gallery archive from the last fifteen years. The touring exhibition will be accompanied by a full colour hardback publication.

PRIDE OF PLACE PROJECTS :
Each exhibition will be supported by an offsite participatory PRIDE OF PLACE PROJECT where local people can help The Caravan Gallery create a vibrant evolving exhibition celebrating the character of their town or city. Commemorative Pride of Place Project publications featuring local photos by The Caravan Gallery and public contributions will be produced retrospectively.

THE CARAVAN GALLERY TOUR :
A mobile exhibition in the caravan featuring photographs  of each area will tour to six different regional locations (36 in total!), to publicise the gallery exhibition and encourage people to get involved in the participatory Pride of Place Project.

The Caravan Gallery hopes to see you soon at a venue near you! Please check Facebook, Twitter and our blog for up-to-date  news, dates, venues and details of how to get involved. Also look out for updates on the the dedicated project pages and associated events on this website.
