Please come and join us on 24 May 2019, 6pm – 9pm at the launch our Sandwell Pride of Place Project in West Bromwich on the opening weekend of Blast! Festival. Our exhibition (in a former Poundland) will open with Photographs of Sandwell by The Caravan Gallery, photo competition entries (winners to be announced on the night!) and some early exhibition contributions, and will grow throughout the festival into an exhibition / alternative visitor information centre created by you! There will be an inaugural performance of Black Country Poet Laureate Brendan Hawthorne’s specially commissioned ‘With A Blast! Upon The Whistle’ and there will be food and drink to enjoy, some of it with a distinctly local flavour.
See Facebook event here.
The project will end with a closing celebration on 29 June 2019. All welcome!
How to get involved: bring along your Sandwell-related art, crafts, photos films, memorabilia, stories, poems, books and objects to add to our display (see poster below for further information).
