extra {ordinary} is a national touring exhibition of over 100 colour photographs taken between 2000-2014. Astutely observed, thought provoking and often hilarious, The Caravan Gallery’s images focus on the extraordinary details of everyday life and a unique record of social change since the millennium. extra{ordinary} gives the viewer an insight into the reality and surreality of everyday life in 21st Century Britain, seeking out and celebrating the curious, the unusual, the typical and the absurd.
extra{ordinary} was produced for The Caravan Gallery’s national Pride of Place Project Tour 2015- 2016, supported by an Arts Council England Strategic Touring grant, in partnership with Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art (NGCA), Sunderland; Impressions Gallery, Bradford; Ffotogallery / Diffusion Festival, Cardiff; Museum of Lancashire, Preston; Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (mima), Middlesbrough and Showcase Gallery, Southampton.
