Southampton in Song and Story
An evening with Michael O’Leary, Brian Hooper and Jeff Henry
23rd November 2016, 7pm
108 East Street (next to Perry’s art shop) SO14 3HD
Mike, Brian and Jeff will be entertaining us with a wander around Southampton in story and song. This is the first time they have collaborated together.
Mike O’Leary is a newcomer to Southampton having only arrived here in 1979, during which time he has lived in Northam. He has been a professional storyteller for over 20 years and will continue to talk rubbish until he falls off his perch. Here is his website and storytelling Facebook page.
Brian and Jeff together are the Bargate Balladeers and have been singing songs about Southampton for many years including their CD Southampton in Song. Brian runs the Fo’c’sle folk club which meets every Friday night at the Richmond Inn at 108 Portswood Road.
It is a free event, but a donation would be appreciated. There will be their CDs and books available to purchase (cash only). You can bring your own drinks, and we will have some available on the night.
