The People’s Map of Blyth – A Legacy

Blyth Market Pavilion, Waterloo Road, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 1BW

24 – 26 October 2025, 11 – 4 daily

We’re really looking forward to being back in bonny Blyth for a weekend with The People’s Map of Blyth which was a favourite feature of our Blyth Pride of Place Project in 2022.  We’ve always wanted to digitise our maps and use them as a springboard for interactive explorations, and the #BlythCelebrates programme is providing us with the opportunity to do just that! We’ll be displaying the map we created during The Caravan Gallery’s residency in Keel Row in the Lounge area of the new Market Pavilion. We’re excited to see what new stories and memories it evokes, and are keen to collect new anecdotes, favourite landmarks, tales of Blythian characters and ideas for walking routes around Blyth. We’ll have plenty of pens and paper to hand for recording your thoughts and confessions!

After this event we’ll be creating a highly detailed digital version of The People’s Map of Blyth as a resource for future creativity and community exploration.

See you soon and bring your friends! (Chris will be around each day and Jan will be arriving on Saturday afternoon, fresh from her aurora chasing adventure!)
